Bismarck / Tirptz (1939 German Fast Battleships)

Progress

Wishing for some nice weather so that I can move a lot of stuff from the dry dock to the shed.

I have made some progress in making room in the dry dock.

I can now stand inside and close the door!!

As soon as I have a clear work bench, I shall start attaching ribs to the keel.

What a busy day!

What a busy day!
I was able to walk the fill lenght of the work bench today!
Found the knobs for the doors.
Yep they were hiding in a parts box at the far end of the work bench.
Started laying out all of my ship building supplies.

Still need to finish the basement...

Still need to finish the basement before I can devote all of my spare time to ship construction.
Today, I was searching for the new door knobs for the door to the Hot water tank room.
I was sure that I had left them on the construction bench.
I was able to clear out almost half of the bench without finding the knobs!
I will attack the other half of the bench tomorrow.
If nothing else, at least the bench will be clear to lay down the keel!

Boy do I feel silly!

Boy do I feel silly! I had the deck backwards! That is why it did not match up! Once I turned it around, it matched up perfectly! My re-scaling of the 1/100 scale paper boats is correct!

I was able to cart a number of boxes out of my workshop today while preparing for the feast tonight.
I hope to be able to clear the dry dock and starting work on the keel in earnest next week.

I am ready to start cutting the keel

bismarck_super.jpgI am ready to start cutting the keel.
Also I have started on the superstructure.
UGH! It looks like I have the wrong scale for the superstructure!
It does not match up with the scale side view print I have!

The Barkada has left for the night.

The Barkada has left for the night.
Took a few minutes out and started laying down the keel for BIS / TIRP!
Next I will be glueing the ribs to te keel, then I shall be ready to start filling the gaps with foam.

The dry dock is back to being a storage room!!!

The dry dock is back to being a storage room!!! UGH!!!
I hope to start moving boxes out to the shed this week.

Even with the Nine Day Novina going on at my place this week, I did find time to take a break for the preperation to start cutting out the superstructure for Bismarck.

Still trying to recover from the party last night

Thought that I would get a chance to open up the dry dock tonight. LOL
In five days the nine day novena to Santo Nino starts at my place.
Nine days of pot luck, prayer, and karaoke.
So I cannot start moving things out of the workshop to make room for the Bis and Tirp!
As soon as I can clear some space, I shall start laying down the keel for the plug.
