We are a small, informal club. Our slogan is 'Big Guns, Cool Boats, Great Friends'. We enjoy this fantastic hobby, but the friendships we form in the club are more important. Because of this we do ask that you use your actual name in your username for the site. You don't have to use your full name but it is very helpful if your username represents your actual name. We want to know who you are and we want to easily connect you with your username when we meet you.
If you do not want to use your full name you can simple use your first name if it is available. If not try using names like 'Tom from Fredericksburg' or 'Brian the Bald' (yes, that was intentional). The site's administrators can change your username if you change your mind. They may also change your suggested username before approving your account. If so, and you don't like their choice please email editor at mabg dot org and discuss the conflict.
Email Verification
You must choose a valid email address. The site will send a verification email to the address you provide to insure the address is valid. This is also the email address that is used to notify you of changes to topics, posts, etc. that you subscribe to. If you forget your password new passwords will be sent to this email address when you request it.
Limited Access
Posts by new users are moderated until we are confident the user is not a spam bot. We are sorry for the necessity of this. However, in ten years of running a site this has proven the only reliable way to prevent spam. We recommend that you quickly jump in a post some coments or start some forum topics. Once we see you are here for the same reason we are one of the administrators will quickly upgrade your account. If they are not fast enough for you then you can email editor at mabg dot org and have the editor upgrade your status.
